Hello my name is Laura and this is my first blog ever! Given that I'm living my life on uncertain terms at the present, I thought that writing a blog would be beneficial not only for myself as a tool to organize my thoughts and make sense of what I want to do with my life, but also for friends and family who are interested in what's going on in the world of Laura. Right now I'm living in Winnipeg, but I have no idea where I will be in a year or what I will be doing so this blog can be a permamnent way to stay in touch with the people I know and care about right now and also all the interesting people I know I will meet along the way!

So here's the lowdown...

I live in Winnipeg, MB and am 25 years old. In Febraury I am heading out to Europe for 4 1/2 months and am really pumped to go! I've been dreaming about doing this for a long time and I don' think that it's hit me yet that I'm really going to be out there! I'm travelling with my sister Christine and Paris will be our first stop and then it's on to Austria for a week of skiing in the Alps. After that...who knows!

We're definately going to hit up Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland and possibly Denmark and Norway.

So this is me wakeboarding out at Brereton Lake in Whiteshell Provincial Park in Manitoba....I learned the sport in 2000 and have been a huge fan ever since. I own a 2002 Hyperlite Fluid 135 and I absolutely love the feeling of flying over the water on a wakeboard on a calm day! It's one of the most exhilirating things in the world! This past summer I did my first toeside 180! I think I earned it too, after the many face plants I've done to get comfortable on the wakeboard!
